Saran D. White, MPA

Chief Executive Officer

Saran White is a mission-driven strategist with over twenty years of experience strengthening the capacity of organizations and systems that increase equity, access and justice in under-resourced communities. With an impressive background in philanthropy, K-12 education, civic engagement and organizational effectiveness, Saran has worked with renowned nonprofits, foundations and thought leaders to effectively implement innovative strategies through collaborative projects and grantmaking.

Varsha Jorawar

Research and Development Specialist

Varsha Jorawar is a Guyanese immigrant and Waterbury resident for the past 10 years. She has lived in practically every part of the city, but Waterbury’s East End holds a special place in her heart. Graduating from Southern Connecticut State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Political Science and an unremitting interest in community work, she started her career in nonprofit program development at a refugee centered organization where she worked extensively to create, run programs and engage in grant writing.

The Advisory Council

The Leever Foundation Advisory Council is a vital component of the Leever Foundation's ecosystem. Through their expertise, insights and connections, council members play an instrumental role in guiding strategies, strengthening partnerships and driving positive change in Waterbury. Together, we forge a collaborative path towards a more equitable and thriving community.

The Board of Directors

The governance structure echoes the foundation's belief in the power of collaboration and shared decision-making. A combined Family and Community Board of Directors guides the work and reflects a commitment to engaging and valuing the voices of all stakeholders, including those directly impacted.
